1. Current cookie status
The public site is designed to work without analytics or advertising cookies. Necessary security, session or form-integrity technology may be used to deliver a feature you request, protect a form, keep the service reliable or support authorised WordPress administration.
If GWO SEVO introduces a non-essential cookie or similar technology, it will remain off until you make a clear choice where consent is required. Refusing it will be as easy as accepting it, and you will be able to change your choice later.
2. What cookies and similar technologies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website or third party stores on your browser or device. Session cookies expire when the browsing session ends; persistent cookies remain until their set expiry or until you remove them. First-party cookies come from this website, while third-party cookies come from another service used by the site.
Similar technologies can include local browser storage, pixels, tags, software-development kits, device identifiers and scripts that read or store information on a device. Server logs and a randomly generated first-party assessment session identifier do not necessarily place information on your device, but personal information derived from them is handled under the Privacy Policy.
3. Technology categories and purposes
| Category | Purpose and examples | Current position |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Deliver a requested page or form, maintain security, balance traffic, prevent duplicate submissions and support authorised sign-in. WordPress may use session or authentication cookies for authorised administrators. | Used only where needed. Consent is not requested where a lawful strictly-necessary exception applies, but the use remains disclosed. |
| Preferences | Remember a choice such as language, layout or cookie settings. | No custom public preference cookie is currently configured. A consent preference may be stored if a choice tool is introduced. |
| First-party assessment analytics | Measure approved assessment events using interaction IDs and a random session identifier, without sending names, email addresses, organisation names, phone numbers, roles or free-text context in the analytics payload. | The feature may be enabled only under the approved privacy boundary. It does not use browser localStorage for assessment answers or contact details. |
| External form security | Google reCAPTCHA may assess device and interaction signals to distinguish legitimate submissions from abuse when the security feature is configured. | Not loaded by the default configuration. If enabled, it is deferred until a protected form stage and any required consent or lawful exception must be addressed before use. |
| Advertising and cross-site tracking | Build profiles, retarget visitors or measure advertising across different services. | Not currently used by the GWO SEVO public website. |
Exact cookie names, providers and durations can change when WordPress, hosting or an approved service is updated. Before any non-essential technology is activated, GWO SEVO must audit it and make its provider, purpose and duration available through the consent interface or an updated table.
4. Third-party website resources
Google Fonts
The site currently retrieves font files from Google. This request can disclose your IP address, browser details and the page requesting the font to Google. Google Fonts is not used by GWO SEVO to set an advertising cookie, but Google controls its own processing of connection data.
Google reCAPTCHA
When configured for a protected form, reCAPTCHA may set or read Google identifiers and analyse device and interaction signals. Its duration and operation are controlled by Google. The form displays links to Google’s privacy policy and terms when the feature is active.
Social and external links
Footer social icons and article-sharing links take you to another service only when you activate the link. That service may then use its own cookies or tracking under its policy. GWO SEVO does not embed a social-media feed in the footer.
5. Your cookie choices
Where consent is required, a conspicuous choice will be shown before the relevant non-essential technology operates. The choice will identify the purpose and responsible organisation, and explain how to withdraw consent. Continuing to browse will not be treated as consent.
- Use the site control: if a cookie-settings control is displayed, use it to accept, reject or change optional categories.
- Use your browser: most browsers let you inspect, block and delete cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent a requested feature from working.
- Use privacy signals: where law requires recognition of an applicable browser signal such as Global Privacy Control, we will treat it accordingly. Because the current public front end does not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising, such a signal does not change that current practice.
Do Not Track is not supported consistently across the web. We rely on the specific choices described above and do not use the absence of a browser signal as permission for optional tracking.
6. Changes and contact
We review this policy when website technology or legal requirements change. Material changes will be highlighted through an appropriate notice, and the updated date will appear at the top. The Privacy Policy explains the broader use of personal information derived from website activity.
